FEEL GREAT WHILE DOING GOOD

We don’t need to be the millionth person to tell you what a difficult year this has been.

YOU GET IT. RIGHT?

But we do want to bring to your attention some alarming facts about the state of food insecurity not just around the world, but right here in America.

COVID-19 AND FOOD INSECURITY IN THE U.S.

Many of you are probably familiar with our mission here at TBK.  What started out as hours volunteering for local soup kitchens and shelters, quickly blossomed into a cause now deeply rooted within our heart - helping feed families who are experiencing food insecurity in America.

And right now we need all the help we can get.

In the past year alone, food insecurity has increased 50% and continues to rise with the ongoing effects of COVID19.  That’s “1 in 6 adults (around 50 million) and 1 in 4 children (approximately 17 million)” who are currently not getting the food they need to survive.

For those of you who may not know, TBK is located in Nassau county where food insecurity is rapidly increasing.

WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT IT

Throughout the entire year, TBK selects and partners with various local foundations or organizations that focus on these issues and, every quarter, 3% of our profits are donated to one of these organizations.

For the first half of 2021 we’ve teamed up with Island Harvest to help combat the devastation that the global pandemic has left on American families’ ability to have enough food on the table.  This female-owned food shelter is a highly-rated local hunger relief organization and member of Feeding America that has worked to bring over 130 million meals to Long Islanders in need and counting.

We are excited to be a part of this exciting initiative to provide hunger relief right in our own backyard!

LET’S TALK GOALS

Where do we hope to go from here? This year we’re aiming to give back 10K meals to communities throughout the U.S.

We launched in November of last year and closed out the year by donating 1,200 meals to impoverished Americans.

Feeding America Thank You

And this year, with your help, we can’t wait to do even more.

XO,

Nicole.
